The video below is shockingly awesome. It is about hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan kids from the worst neighborhoods playing classical music together, and really well.
Did you cry a little bit?
It also, however, raises some interesting questions. Why is it that Americans in rough neighborhoods that might be a bit rough around the edges have to be really scary and mean?
Do you think something like this would ever be ‘kewl’ in Oakland?
Kids in Caracas are 1000 times more dangerous than kids anywhere in America, so why is it that those same people in Venezuela will be nice to you and laugh as long as they’re not killing you?
Why do they dress normal and like everyone else, whereas ‘thug’ americans dress ‘thug’ and act like they’re trying to scare you all day long? In Venezuela dressing ‘thug’ means you’re rich.
Why do ‘thug’ americans have to listen to scary and agressive music, whereas ‘thug’ Venezuelans just really like Salsa?
Whats the deal, yall???

Thats where fashion comes in. fashion is at least 50% of what music is in the US. thatz why i wear da bob marley shirt and da hemp necklace.
One love guys. Jah bless.
Wouldn’t it be good to turn our energies to helping towards the creation a similar happening here in the USA?
